About Sydnee

Sydnee Elliot, writer and painter, born in Boston and attended Boston University. After graduation and one failed marriage she moved to Berkeley. Ten years later she moved to Las Vegas and worked in the gambling industry for twenty years. While in Las Vegas she studied playwriting at UNLV. In 1995, Sydnee moved to Greece, her life-long dream finally achieved. During her ten-year stay on the island of Kythira, Sydnee wrote fifty short stories, one novel, and forty poems. She also exhibited her paintings in several Athenian Galleries and designed unique clothing for women. With grandmother-hood approaching, she returned to the states.

Polly’s Wild Dance, at the time of The Writer’s Forum Magazine Novel Contest in England in 2003 was titled Remember Me???, short-listed in fifth place.

Tell Me That You Love Me, Abe Schwartz, a full-length play received a grant from the Nevada State Council of the Arts and National Endowment for the Arts in 1992.

See How Freely I Dance Now, St. Benedict, a one-act play, presented at UNLV by the Allied Arts Council Theater Division’s Off-Year Festival sponsored by the Nevada Community Theatre Association in Reno and the Theatre Arts Department of UNLV, 1993.

City Weeds, a full-length play placed second in the JOHN McHUGH MEMORIAL AWARDS sponsored by the Allied Arts Council Playwriting Competition, 1994.

Sydnee resides in Las Vegas, Nevada where she is writing a new novel, Get What You Deserve, and a collection of short stories.

Sydnee Elliot has also published stories and poems under the name Ellen (Eleni) Karatzaferi.
